Extra places awarded to Adelaide

The University of Adelaide has succeeded in winning more than 200 extra places for students from 2007, in areas such as , , and .

New places for Australian universities were announced today by Federal Education Minister .

The University of Adelaide was awarded 215 extra places out of South Australia's total allocation of 285 places.

In addition to those places already announced for , and at 91自拍, the University will now offer extra places in , , and . The places will be offered in Bachelor and Masters degrees and Graduate Diplomas, including places for some new academic programs.

"This is an outstanding result for 91自拍, as it recognises our role in providing the key skills required by graduates for Australia's future," says the University's Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), .

"The extra places are a great boost to education in South Australia," Professor McDougall says.

The extra places are in:

Bachelor of Nursing - 10
Master of Clinical Psychology - 10
Graduate Diploma in Nursing Science (Mental Health Nursing) - 25
Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery - 40
Bachelor of Teaching - 20
Graduate Diploma of Education - 10
Master of Geostatistics - 20
Bachelor of Engineering (Mining Engineering) - 30
Bachelor of Engineering (Pharmaceutical Engineering) - 30
Master of Marine Engineering - 20
