Open Access Week 2023

(24 October to 27 October) is an opportunity to join together, take action, and raise awareness around the importance of community control of knowledge sharing systems. This year’s central theme is Community over Commercialisation.
Refreshed study space on Level 2 - now open!

We're excited to announce that Level 2 North of the Barr Smith Library is now open for quiet study, with more improvements on the way! Over the next couple of months, you can expect brand new furniture to enhance your study environment, and the return of our collections for easier access to resources.

Upward trend in Library usage
The University Library’s space usage has increased since 2022, with the data indicating a return to pre-pandemic levels of access! Within the first half of 2023, physical visits to the Library were at 299,458, which is a 76,000 increase compared to the previous year.
Celebrate 50 Years Proud

"50 Years Proud: Queerness on Campus" is an exhibition that takes visitors on a journey through time, chronicling events from 1972, including the tragic death of Dr. Duncan, to 1975, when homosexuality was decriminalised in South Australia. Join us in honoring the pioneering spirit of those who paved the way for LGBTQIA+ rights.
Musical Fusion - East meets West
A cross cultural experience of stringed instruments from East and West in the awesome acoustics of the Barr Smith Library Reading Room. Join us for Music in the Reading Room with Friends of the Library on Saturday 14 October 2023.
