Associate Prof Katharina RichterÌýwins the InDaily SA 40 Under 40 Discovery Award

Congratulations to Associate Professor Katharina Richter, who has been named one of South Australia’s 40 Under 40 for 2025 and awarded the InDaily 40 Under 40 Discovery Award.

These prestigious awards celebrate the passion, vision and achievements of South Australia’s emerging leaders, including space entrepreneurs, scientists, artists, tech founders and community changemakers.

Katharina is recognised for her groundbreaking work in tackling one of the greatest global health threats of our time: antibiotic-resistant bacteria, or superbugs. Without effective treatments, superbugs are predicted to kill 10 million people each year by 2050. Katharina is leading a team working to change that.

Alongside developing innovative treatments, she is a dedicated mentor and a passionate advocate for science outreach, inspiring the next generation of researchers.
